Positions
Benefits & Compensations
It is our core value to provide fair and equal compensation based on each individual’s contribution to the company and project success. Pro-actively seeking opportunities to eliminate waste and increase the value to our costumers is rewarded. We believe that age, gender, years of experience, etc. should not play a role in determining ones compensation, salary, benefits, promotion and position.
We provide an open and transparent compensation system which is based on only three factors:
- An individual’s contribution index
- Our global index, based on company profitability, strategy and global inflation
- Hours worked
Additionally, Buro Matei offers:
- 32 or 40 hour workweek, flexible hours.
- Personalized benefits.
- Transparent salary scheme, based on employee’s contributions.
- Profit-sharing scheme, based on employee’s contributions.
- Sales commission scheme.
We aim at tailoring each individual’s compensation package, as different people might value different forms of compensation, and different countries follow different regulations. In practice that means a balance between:
- Gross salary
- Mobility: Options for remote work and, where applicable, compensation for transportation.
- One-time pays: Contribution-based profit-sharing scheme and sales commission scheme.
- Flexible budget: Allocated for personal development, health and wellness, home work space, or other approved expenses.
- Professional development opportunities: Access to training, courses, and career growth paths.
- For fully remote employees outside the Netherlands, we engage through a local employer of record to ensure compliance with regional employment laws and practices.
- This approach allows us to extend our global reach while maintaining the integrity of our employment standards and benefits.
- Local employment standards, such as holidays, healthcare, retirements, etc. will be respected.
The Employee’s personal performance and contribution shall be periodically evaluated and bench-marked. This evaluation results in determining a personal Contribution Index.
Each individual’s contribution is measured by their peers in terms of:
-
Technical knowledge
-
Quality of the work
-
Creativity: smart ideas, innovation, out-of-the box, problem solving
-
Continuous Improvements: automation, efficiency increase, waste reduction
-
Bringing in new work
-
Giving and receiving feedback
-
Ownership: self managing, responsibility
-
Time and budget management
-
Learning and teaching
-
Collaboration and communication
- Buro Matei plans at least one salary increase cycle per year.
- During the salary increase cycle, each employee’s new salary shall be determined based on:
- The Employee’s contribution index, as outlined above.
- The Buro Matei Global Index, based on company profitability, strategy and global inflation.
- Contract hours.
- The company plans at least once profit-share pay per year.
- A personal profit-share, as applicable, shall be determined based on:
- The portion of actualized global profit made available for profit-sharing.
- The Employee’s contribution index, as outlined above.
- The Buro Matei Global Index, based on company profitability, strategy and global inflation.
- Hours worked.
Buro Matei offers a Commission Scheme as follows:
- Employee involvement in acquiring clients and projects can vary from simply identifying and introducing potential leads, to engaging in follow-up communications, and actively participating in negotiation processes.
- Depending on their level of involvement, employees can earn a commission starting at EUR 600 gross per secured project. For more involved roles, the commission can be up to 10% of the project’s first year’s gross revenue.
